ITS leadership ranks pressing the project inauguration button which this time was marked by the groundbreaking ceremony of the ITS Medics Building in the area next to the ITS Science Technopark
ITS Campus, ITS News — In order to provide quality education and learning facilities in producing quality medical personnel and doctors, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) built the ITS Faculty of Medicine and Health (Medics) building. The inauguration of this project was marked by the groundbreaking ceremony of the ITS Medics Building which took place in the area next to the ITS Science Technopark, Friday (14/2).
In his welcoming speech, ITS Chancellor Prof. Ir. Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng PhD revealed that this project had been proposed since 2022. However, the project that aims to support Medics lecture activities only started in early 2025. “This development is projected to be completed in July 2025,” he said.
As a technology-based institution, through this development, ITS designs its medical education program that emphasizes the integration of medical science and cutting-edge technology. The ITS Medics curriculum will include 20 percent of the material on technological developments in the world of health, such as artificial intelligence (AI), data science for medical analysis, and the increasingly developing science of genomics.

According to Bambang, the use of this technology is expected to increase the efficiency of diagnosis, treatment, and medical research and produce doctors who are not only qualified in clinical skills, but also able to adapt to the industrial revolution 4.0 in the health sector. “By implementing this innovative curriculum, we prepare ITS graduate doctors to have a competitive advantage in the modern medical world and be able to provide technology-based health services,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the five-story building provides various spaces that support academic activities and practicums of Medics students. Several floors are used for lectures and administration, while others are used for laboratories and development of student medical skills. Not only that, this building is also equipped with an auditorium that can accommodate 200 students.

With this 7,284.76 square meter facility, ITS is increasingly solidifying its steps in producing quality doctors. “This development represents ITS’ readiness in producing future doctors who are not only at the forefront of health sciences, but also adaptive to technological advances,” said the 13th ITS chancellor.
In line with ITS’s commitment to improve the quality of higher education, this project is also in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, namely quality education. Bambang hopes that this project can be completed on schedule so that students can immediately enjoy modern facilities that support learning. “With the support of this facility, we hope that students will be able to develop their competencies optimally,” he concluded optimistically.
